Frequently asked questions
How long does a reading take?
Most readings finish within two to five minutes. Complex readings with audio narration and PDF generation can take up to ten minutes. You will receive a notification when your reading is ready.
My reading is stuck or never appeared
First, force-quit and reopen the app — most stuck states clear themselves on relaunch. If the reading still hasn't appeared after fifteen minutes, email support@unhinged.app with your account email and the approximate time you started the reading. We can manually re-trigger it from the backend.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not by us directly.
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → UNHINGED → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → UNHINGED → Cancel
You retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period.
I want a refund
Refunds are also handled by Apple or Google directly.
- iOS: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, find the UNHINGED purchase, and request a refund.
- Android: Open Google Play, find the order, and tap Request a refund.
If your purchase failed or content was never delivered, email us first — we can confirm the issue and may be able to redeliver content without you needing a refund at all.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings → Account Deletion. This permanently removes all your data — birth data, readings, photos, portraits, and your subscription record from our systems — within 30 days. This action cannot be undone. Apple and Google will retain their own purchase records on their side.
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password and enter your email. You will receive a reset link. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within five minutes.
Are readings generated by AI?
Yes. All readings are generated by advanced AI language models interpreting your precise astronomical chart data. Each reading passes through a three-layer process: exact calculations, analytical interpretation, and literary rewriting by a unique narrative voice. Astronomical positions are deterministic; interpretive content is creative and varies between runs.
Can I access my readings offline?
Yes. Once generated, your readings are cached on your device. PDFs can be downloaded for offline reading, and audio narrations are cached after first playback.
What about my photos?
Uploaded photos are used exclusively to generate AI portraits for your library. Originals are stored encrypted and are never shared with other users or used to train AI models. You can delete photos at any time through the app.
How accurate are the calculations?
We use the Swiss Ephemeris — the same astronomical engine used by professional astrologers worldwide — to calculate planetary positions to arc-second precision. Birth time accuracy is the main factor: even a few minutes' difference can shift your Rising sign. If you don't know your exact birth time, we recommend using 12:00 PM as an approximation, but note that time-sensitive placements (Rising, Houses) may be inaccurate.
